After the fun with friends last weekend, I headed down to Mishawaka to spend a week with the Zynda family.
On the ride down, Erika and I hit up the new casino in Battle Creek called Fire Keepers. What a beautiful place. All brand new machines, nice comfy chairs, I didn’t want to leave. But leave we did, and made it down to Mishawaka in time for a yummy dinner at Polito’s with the Nashel’s.
The next day, I volunteered to watch the boys while the adults went to a movie (or to work) and we set about making reindeer cookies. Thanks to Jyl for the inspiration. It was a ton of fun. The boys separated the M and M’s by color, and then joined in again when it came time to decorate. Can you figure out which cookie in the picture WASN”T decorated by a six year old?
The following day (Monday) I cooked for the same group I had cooked for last year. But this time the lady of the house requested roast. I usually make my roast in a slow cooker all. day. long., but as that wasn’t available, I went with a roasting bag. FAIL. It came out tough and dry and just not good. It was probably the worst roast I have ever made, sorry guys, I promise to do better next year, if you’ll give me another chance.
Tuesday was spent hanging out at E’s office, she had put aside some projects for me, and I finished each one handily. I miss working full time.
Wednesday was a casino day, E and I headed up to Four Winds and had a blast. We were both down to our last $10 and we sat at the Lucky Ladybug machines, thinking they would be our last hurrah before hitting a potty and the exit. almost an hour later and with bursting bladders we were both ahead for the day and decided to continue on gambling for a few more hours.
Thursday evening E and I went to the bowling alley with Jackson’s school. I found out earlier this year with Megan in Vegas that bowling wasn’t something I could do anymore, so I just watched. The best part was when Jackson beat his mom, Handily. LOL.
Friday we drove back up to Detroit for a Holiday Party at Stephanie’s new house. Lots of family, lots of friends, lots of food and lots of fun. The highlight of the night tho, happened on the drive back to Westland, when Jackson serenaded us in the car.
Enjoy!
