We all know I have a terrible fear of heights.
With the bridge in Big Sur.
And the bridge in San Francisco.
And hell the freeway interchanges in my own neighborhood.
But I conquered all of those. Ok, maybe not conquered but I achieved them, some more than once, some never to be done again, but hey I get credit for doing them once!
I spent the last few days in Las Vegas. I have always wanted but have been too afraid to go up in the faux Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel and Casino. But today was different. Taj asked, I whimpered, he encouraged, I whined, he pushed, I conceded. But I did so with a death grip on his hand for the entire elevator ride up.
Once we were up there, I stayed VERY close to the inside edge, which actually wasn’t a whole helluva lot better because the inside edge was only the inside edge around the ELEVATOR SHAFT! ugh.
But I stayed up, I went with my back to the edge and posed for a picture (thank you nice newlywedes for taking our picture for us).
It was over 100 degrees out, I was sweating and crying the entire time, but I am glad I did it.
I am proud of myself.
