It Takes Two to Tango

Many moons ago (ok maybe it was only 1993 or so) we had a neighbor with a very fertile cat. As soon as a litter was born she was pregnant again (kind of like a Duggar). When the kids watched a litter being born they picked out a kitten right then and there. We weren’t planning on adopting a cat but nevertheless, Stone came into our home and became a member of the family immediately.

When we moved into our current home it had a good backyard and one of the first things on our to do list was to adopt a pet, a dog to be specific. We trekked down to the local Shelter and looked at a multitude of dogs. Big dogs, little dogs, furry dogs, old dogs and puppies. But only one dog, gave us all the same “dumb dog” look. You know the one, where the dog kind of tilts her head to the side and says “Huh?” That was it, we were sold. One of the kids stated “she is the link to our heart”, and that is how Link came into the family.

Of course I am a proponent of adopting pets, I don’t think anyone should spend a ton of money on purchasing a bred dog or cat, when so many animals are waiting in shelters to be adopted into loving homes.
