This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I saw the pitch to write about the 12 Days of Giving from Walmart, I thought ugh another “advertising” post that will send my readers clicking the X. But then I read further and I did my research and I got a little tingle and a little giddy.
This little post will do something for me (Hello! You think I do this crap for free?), but it can possibly do a LOT for an organization that I care about.
A little background introduction. Walmart will be giving a total of $1.5 Million in grants to benefit local communities across the country and provide basic need items like food, formula, DIAPERS, coats and other cold-weather clothing to those in need.
Between now and Noveber 18th you can nominate and garner votes for your favorite non-profit to be eligible on face book. Then starting December 10th Walmart will start funding the winning non-profits.
Without further ado I would like to introduce you to Help A Mother Out (HAMO). HAMO provides diapers to children all over California. Since May 2009 they have provided more than 1,000,000 diapers to families who couldn’t afford them. My friend (and one time boss) Kim Prince went so far as to ask her friends and blog readers and face book followers to send her diapers for her birthday! And they did! She came home to an amazing sight at her front door (which technically I am not allowed to link to in a paid post but if you go to kimtracyprince.com and click on help a mother out on the sidebar you will see the post titled Im so glad I asked).
I am asking you to follow the link above and give HAMO a vote. And if you know of a deserving non-profit that could use a hand this year, nominate them. ALl you need is their name address and phone number it really is that easy. ANd then leave me a comment with the info and I will vote for them as well.
