This is one of my favorite desserts to bring to any potluck or family gathering. Rarely are there any leftovers. My best piece of advice is to cut the pieces smaller than you
want to, because it is VERY rich.
Ingredie
nts:
1 box chocolate cake mix (any chocolate)
4 eggs
2 sticks of butter (melted seperately)
1 8 oz package of cream cheese
1 cup of peanut butter
1 16oz box of confectioner’s sugar
(told you it was rich)
In your mixing bowl combine the cake mix 1 egg and 1 stick of melted butter. Mix until a crumbly almost brownie like texture. Pour into you 8 1/2 X 11 Baking dish and press firmly into all parts of the pan. No need to leave a crust it will make one itself.
For the filling combine the cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth and creamy. Add the remaining 3 eggs one at a time, continuously mixing. Include the butter and then slowly (I repeat SLOWLY) add the confectioner’s sugar. If you have a shield for your mixer now is the best time to use it.

Mix thoroughly stopping at least once to scrape the sides and bottom.
Pour fil
ling over top of the crust and put into a 375 degree oven. Bake for about 50 minu
tes. It will look a little jiggly when you take it out, no worries, that’s good. Let i
t cool for at least an hour (better over night). Some have topped it with cool whip or al a mode, I like it plain and unadulterated.

I like chocolate and I like peanut butter. I even like them both together. But for some reason, this cake has never appealed to me. But I can let you know I have seen people dive into this cake and barely come up for air. They love it.
Oddly enough, I never really enjoyed this cake either.
