Once again a fun event was scheduled and I had to work and couldn’t attend. Thankfully Elise Derby offered to cover it for me and agreed to write about it for you! For more Warner Bros Tour classic film pictures and info visit Elise’s Ramblings .
Last week Warner Bros Studio Tours invited several bloggers to experience their deluxe studio tour and I was lucky enough to be among them. The normal studio tour is 2 hours and 25 minutes, which you might think would be enough, but it’s not. After 5 hours on the deluxe tour, I still wanted more.
The tour took us, on trams, through the studios back lots, stages, prop rooms, and we even got to have lunch in the commissary. The tour guide really knew everything there was to know about the studio. Many of the tour attendees were interested in the shows they are filming today, and he was able to answer all their questions. I love classic Hollywood and he was equally knowledgeable on that.
We saw everything from the sets of Pretty Little Liars to the Maltese Falcon. During lunch we had a real studio moment, when a bunch of extras from a Halloween party came out for lunch and they were all walking around in their elaborate costumes. There was a particularly convincing Jimi Hendrix.
Several TV shows were taping while we were there and where possible our guide stopped and introduced us. While driving on the back lots he pointed out various building and told us all the films they have been in, including one which is the last remaining set from Casablanca.
Finally we went to the Warner Bros.’s museum. This is a two story building that houses costumes and props from the early films of Warner bros. to the most recent shows. The entire second floor is devoted to Harry Potter. You can even be sorted into a Hogwarts house during your visit.
It was an amazing day for any film fan, and really who isn’t!

I love the Warner Bros museum. However the Sorting Hat put me in Slytherin. WTH?

How fun! I heard an LA Times critic saying it’s one of the best studio tours.
