What the Hell is a #CoronaRIta?

]At least once a week I see a story on TMZ about Jessica Simpson going to Chili’sBar and Grill.  Why they think that is news I have no idea.  I know, I know, TMZ isn’t “news” per se but still, I enjoy it.

Being as pregnant as she is I am pretty sure Ms. Simpson is not enjoying the new CoronaRita at Chili’s. CoronaRita sm.jpgWhat with it being made with Jose Cuervo Especial Tequila and Coronita, LOL last I heard those were all no no’s when nine months pregnant.

My first experience with Chili’s was not a good one.  We were a huge group and the waitress was ill equipped to handle us.  That was enough to keep me away for many years.  But I went back recently and ended up having a lovely meal with great service.

The menu is compatible with good casual family dining, the Texas Cheese Fries are a heart attack on a plate (just the way I like them).  If there was one closer I could see this as becoming our go to family place to eat out.  The variety of food ranges from burgers to steaks to chicken and fish.  Something for everyone.

When a friend and I went a few weeks ago we were able to split the 2 for $20 menu and shared an appetizer of the Texas Cheese Fries and each had a full size entrée.  I got the 6oz Sirloin Steak and she had the Quesadilla Explosion Salad, trying to be a little healthier after our appetizer, HA!  That thing was huge! It had grilled chicken with cheese, tomatoes, corn relish, cilantro, tortilla strips and citrus-balsamic dressing and was also served with cheese quesadillas

There was simply no room for desserts, may be next time.

When is the last time you went to Chili’s?  What is your favorite thing to order?

  1. We love Chili’s. Jonathan and I too usually get the 2 for $20, and I get the steak. And the last couple times he and his mother (and father once) got the 2 for $30 which included a margarita and a dessert. The last time we went Mary actually got the Coronarita and it wasn’t all that bad. I didn’t drink a whole one (since being pregnant I don’t drink often or a lot) but I did try her’s. It wasn’t bad, but not something I would order regularly or often.
